Description


The snout is long and the eyes and ears are small. The fur is short. it has whitish underside and it has black upper parts. The water shrew weighs up to 1.6 ounces and is 4 to 5.5 inches long. Its tail is nearly as long as its body.


Habitat


the water shrew is found close to water, in stream’s banks ponds and rivers it can live in woodlands to.


Predators and Prey


Its prey are small fish, tadpoles, slugs, snails, and insects. Its predators are hawks, owls snakes, and big fish.



Form vs. Function


its has a tail for balance and short legs to help it to run fast.
